On July 24th, US Republican Senator Roger Marshall announced that he was withdrawing his support for the Digital Asset Anti-Money Laundering Act, a bill he had co-authored with Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren. This legislation was originally aimed at bringing the cryptocurrency industry under existing anti-money laundering and anti-terrorism financing laws, thereby regulating it. Although Senator Marshall no longer supports the bill, it still has the backing of 18 senators and continues to progress through the legislative process in Congress.
