Tokenization platform OpenEden announced an innovative move by introducing tokenized US Treasury Bills (T-bills) for the first time on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). OpenEden’s TBILL tokens focus on investments in short-term US Treasury bills and reverse repurchase agreements, ensuring the highest levels of safety and regulatory compliance. Ripple has decided to allocate $10 million to invest in OpenEden’s TBILL tokens as part of its larger investment plan. RippleX Senior Vice President Markus Infanger noted that this partnership showcases new opportunities for the tokenization of real-world assets and highlights XRPL’s position as a leading blockchain. Currently, OpenEden’s recent total locked value (TVL) for tokenized US Treasury Bills exceeds $75 million, and it has received an investment-grade “A” rating from Moody’s. OpenEden Co-founder Jeremy Ng stated that users will be able to mint TBILL tokens through stablecoins, including the upcoming Ripple USD. Additionally, Ripple has announced a collaboration with Archax to bring more tokenized real-world assets into XRPL.
