The European Central Bank is seeking to deepen its understanding of the market, technology, and business implications of implementing the digital euro in an offline mode. To this end, the institution has initiated a project that invites industry professionals from sectors such as mobile device manufacturers, network operators, and trusted service managers to participate in discussions. The aim of this invitation is to gather insights on how the digital euro can operate offline on embedded secure elements (eSE) and embedded SIM (eSIM), with a view to optimizing user experience and driving innovation.
