Governments around the world hold over 470,000 bitcoins

According to a recent study by CoinGecko, global governments collectively own about 471,380.6 bitcoins, worth around $32.7 billion, accounting for 2.6% of the total bitcoin circulation. Among them, the US has the highest number, with 213,297 bitcoins, valued at approximately $14.82 billion. These data reflect the status of digital currency ownership and its potential influence in various countries. It is worth noting that a substantial part of these holdings comes from assets seized from the dark web marketplace 'Silk Road'.
