Flow Platform recently issued an announcement, announcing its plan to conduct a Crescendo upgrade on September 4 at 8 PM, aiming to achieve complete compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) through this upgrade. According to the official platform introduction, the Crescendo upgrade will be one of the most influential updates since the Genesis event for the Flow network. The upgrade content will cover EVM compatibility for all developers on the Flow platform, marking the maturity phase of the Flow native programming environment, Cadence 1.0. This means that any smart contracts, protocols, or tools running on the Ethereum mainnet can be run smoothly on the Flow platform, similar to EVM L2. In addition, in order to ensure a smooth upgrade process, it is expected that the entire network upgrade will last about 6 hours, during which the Flow mainnet will enter maintenance mode and stop processing transactions.
