In the second quarter of 2024, Ethereum moved from a decentralized monetary system to a state with an inclination towards inflation, leading to an increase in the circulating supply by 120,818 tokens. This transformation occurred as a result of a decrease in network activity and a notable reduction in the destruction rate. While 107,725 ETH were destroyed, the issuance reached 228,543 tokens, causing the overall supply to rise. The ETH destruction rate witnessed a sequential decrease of 66.7%, mainly due to a reduction in transaction volume. Within this context, ETH transfer activities accounted for the highest portion of destruction at 6,838 tokens, suggesting that although there was a decrease in overall value transfer activities, this function remained operational.
