Since the promotional rules came into effect on October 8 last year, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has warned over 1,000 cryptocurrency companies that they must register with the FCA before engaging in promotional activities within the UK. FCA's Director of Consumer Investments, Lucy Castledine, said this series of actions has led to the removal of 48 applications from the local App Store in the UK. This move aims to regulate advertising behavior in the cryptocurrency market and protect investors from potential fraud and misdirection. By strengthening regulation, the FCA hopes to ensure market transparency and fairness, promoting the healthy and orderly development of the cryptocurrency industry.
