Irish Police Crack Major Money Laundering Case, Seize Over $7.1 Million in Cryptocurrency

On August 9th, the Irish Police carried out a raid in the north of Dublin targeting money laundering and illegal transactions on darknet markets. During this operation, they successfully seized approximately $7.1 million (equivalent to €6.5 million) worth of cryptocurrency. Among those arrested, two men were charged with aiding in the commission of serious offenses by a criminal organization, while a woman was charged with money laundering. According to Detective Superintendent Michael Muldowney of the Irish National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, this achievement is the result of the agency's professional investigators conducting highly complex investigations into activities on darknet markets, showcasing the police's determination and capability in combating such crimes.
