U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren has sent a 10-page letter to Tesla Chairman Robyn Denholm, calling for an investigation into Tesla CEO Elon Musk over concerns that he may be misusing Tesla resources for his other personal ventures. Warren specifically highlighted Musk's transfer of computer chips from Tesla to his social media company, X Corp., suggesting this action may violate company policy and constitute the misappropriation of corporate resources. Earlier in June, Musk confirmed the transfer of Tesla's AI chips to X Corp. and xAI Corp., citing that these chips would otherwise sit idle in warehouses. Warren expressed concern, arguing that this is not only an inappropriate use of company resources but also reflects an unavoidable conflict of interest in the creation of xAI.
