MUFG MSS Announces Plan to Issue Digital Securities This Year

Japanese joint venture MUFG MSS has recently announced its intention to issue digital securities this year. Currently focused on the development of digital bonds, MUFG MSS aims to expand its business scope and attract global investors by leveraging Morgan Stanley's global network. The company plans to promote Japanese digital bond products to foreign investors. Additionally, MUFG holds a 49% share in one of Japan's major blockchain networks for digital securities, Progmat. Besides MUFG, Progmat's other investors include major companies such as Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Mizuho Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust, SBI PTS, JPX (the operator of the stock exchange), NTT Data, and Data Chain. MUFG is also involved in another major platform for issuing digital securities, iBet for Fin project under the Nippon Yusen Group, which will further strengthen its position in the digital securities sector.
