Nigerian Government Freezes N8.3 Billion in Assets Linked to Protest Activities

Nigerian National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu revealed at the National Committee meeting on August 13 that the government has taken action to block assets worth N8.3 billion (approximately $52 million) associated with the funding of the EndBadGovernance protest activities. This measure includes freezing $50 million worth of cryptocurrency in four specific wallets, as well as N4 billion donated by politicians from Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, and Katsina. The move aims to curb financial flows related to the protest activities and maintain national order and stability.
