On August 15, Malaysian police conducted an operation in Kulai, Johor, successfully killing four suspects and arresting ten others, with three men and one woman still at large. A Chinese man who arrived in Malaysia in July was kidnapped, and his family finally secured the release of both victims after paying a ransom of $1.2 million. Police recovered part of the ransom as well as valuable assets including approximately $373,000 in cash, vehicles, watches, and jewelry worth about $700,000. It has been revealed that the mastermind behind the crime is the victim's private driver.
