Since the launch of the Taiko mainnet, its team has been dedicated to protocol optimization, successfully reducing L1 Gas costs by more than 30% while ensuring contract upgradeability. As the team focuses on enhancing performance and functionality, a series of core development directions have been identified. These include but are not limited to enhancing L2 EIP-1559, improving transaction pre-confirmation efficiency, introducing Sponsored Transactions to optimize transaction processes, supporting Cancun EVM for expanded compatibility, enabling contracts to use Calldata as Data Availability, and strengthening the minimum layer selection mechanism to enhance overall efficiency. The Ontake upgrade version will integrate these features and improvements, with testing planned to start on the Hekla testnet in October. Following this, the mainnet upgrade is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year, aiming to provide users with more efficient, secure, and innovative services.
