Increase in Institutional Holders of Bitcoin ETFs and Stocks during the Second Quarter

According to a report by Golden Finance, in the second quarter, the number of institutional holders and the quantity of stocks held by Bitcoin spot ETFs both saw growth. In the three sets of data, the number of holders of the iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) grew from 436 in the first quarter to 582 in the second quarter, representing a 34% increase on a quarterly basis; meanwhile, the quantity of stocks held increased from 80 million shares in the first quarter to 118 million shares in the second quarter, a 47% increase on a quarterly basis. Additionally, the number of holders of the Fidelity Bitcoin Trust (FBTC) saw a 25% increase on a quarterly basis, growing from 242 in the first quarter to 303 in the second quarter; the quantity of stocks held also saw a 35% increase on a quarterly basis, rising from 37.6 million shares in the first quarter to 50.4 million shares in the second quarter. The number of holders of the Bitwise Bitcoin Strategy Fund (BITB) also saw a 35% increase on a quarterly basis, growing from 103 in the first quarter to 139 in the second quarter; the quantity of stocks held saw a 50% increase on a quarterly basis, rising from 9.8 million shares in the first quarter to 14.7 million shares in the second quarter.
