He stated that although his opinion may not always be followed, he still believes he has the right to express his views based on a deep understanding of the economy. 'I think the president can speak, but that doesn't mean they have to listen,' Trump said at an event in Pennsylvania. He also mentioned that during his tenure, he constantly offered suggestions to Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell regarding interest rates. 'It may or may not have had an effect,' Trump added. Despite this, Trump firmly believes in his economic intuition and stated, 'The president can certainly talk about interest rates because I believe I have a good instinct. This does not mean I get to decide, but it does mean I should have the right to talk about it, just like anyone else.'
