Golden Finance Report, Shaquille O'Neal will need to defend against claims made against him in the Astrals NFT class action lawsuit. Judge Federico Moreno of the Federal Court in Miami ruled on O'Neal's motion to dismiss, stating that the plaintiff's allegations that O'Neal is a 'seller' of the Astrals NFT project mean that O'Neal needs to respond to this. The lawsuit filed in May 2023 alleged that the NFT is an unregistered security promoted online by O'Neal. The judge dismissed O'Neal's claim of being in control of the project. Judge Moreno wrote that the lawsuit 'sufficiently alleges that Astrals and Galaxy tokens are “securities” subject to federal securities laws.'
