The Paraguayan National Electricity Administration (ANDE) recently conducted strict supervision of the domestic energy market, successfully identifying and investigating a large-scale illegal bitcoin mining operation through the use of advanced SCADA systems. During this operation, ANDE inspectors discovered tampered electricity meters at a hidden location that failed to accurately record the power consumption of all connected devices from the national power grid. This discovery revealed that illegal bitcoin miners were attempting to evade high electricity bills. After investigation, it was found that there were 693 miners in this illegal mining operation, who were using power resources for bitcoin mining, thereby increasing the burden on the national power system. ANDE has conducted a thorough investigation into the case and will legally handle those responsible to maintain the stability and fairness of the national power system.
