Golden Finance Report, the U.S. Attorney's Office firmly opposed former FTX Digital Markets Co-CEO Ryan Salame's request to withdraw his guilty plea agreement related to campaign finance violations. Despite Salame and his lawyers arguing that he had pleaded guilty due to the government's promise not to investigate his partner Michelle Bond, this view was rebutted. The U.S. authorities pointed out that the claim is "clearly erroneous" and emphasized the fairness of the legal process. Salame was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for campaign finance violations and faces approximately $6 million in fines and restitution. Currently, Salame plans to report to prison on October 13. If the court accepts his withdrawal request, he may face a full criminal trial. It is worth noting that during the trial of former FTX CEO Sam 'SBF' Bankman-Fried, Salame did not testify, while other former FTX executives like Nishad Singh and Gary Wang have already pleaded guilty and testified. Bankman-Fried has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, while Michelle Bond's sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
