Former FTX executive Ryan Salame has recently withdrawn his request from the New York court to enforce his plea agreement with prosecutors or to vacate the judgment after withdrawing his guilty plea. Salame was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison in May. However, this decision was made to support his partner, Michelle Bond, who is also undergoing related legal proceedings. According to Salame's lawyers, prosecutors promised to stop investigating Bond as part of the process that led to Salame's guilty plea. Bond is Salame's long-time partner and mother of his children, and she previously worked at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). In her congressional campaign in 2022, Bond was accused of accepting illegal campaign contributions and currently faces four charges related to campaign finance violations, each with a maximum sentence of five years. Bond appeared in court on August 22 in the Southern District of New York and was granted bail of $1 million.
