Recently, Golden Finance published an update on the latest developments regarding Mt.Gox, revealing progress in its bitcoin distribution process. According to data monitored by blockchain analyst Ashes, Mt.Gox successfully transferred approximately $3.89 billion worth of 61,558.9 bitcoins to an exchange tasked with executing the distribution. This marks an important step for Mt.Gox in addressing the issues left over from the 2014 bitcoin theft incident. More specifically, some creditors have already received their corresponding payouts through well-known trading platforms such as Bitbank, SBI VC Trade, and Kraken. As of now, the total amount of these funds is $3.218 billion, demonstrating Mt.Gox's efforts to fulfill its commitment to compensate victims. However, it is worth noting that despite this progress, Mt.Gox still faces a challenge: there are still 80,126 bitcoins (approximately $5.288 billion) yet to be transferred, meaning that this portion of assets remains pending. For Mt.Gox, how to efficiently and fairly complete the transfer and compensation of the remaining assets will be one of the key issues to focus on in the future.
