At the recent KDDI summit, the CEO of OpenAI's Japanese subsidiary, Masahiko Nakamura, revealed that the company is developing a new model codenamed 'GPT-Next', whose performance is expected to be 100 times stronger than the current GPT-4 model. The company plans to release this model later in the year. The enhanced performance of the GPT-Next model is attributed to its optimized architecture design and improved learning efficiency rather than relying solely on vast computational resources. Additionally, Nakamura mentioned that currently, OpenAI has fewer than 2,000 global employees, with approximately half of them dedicated to AI development. OpenAI's major clients include Apple Inc., Coca-Cola, and biotech giant Moderna.
