A worrying alert has been issued recently by cryptocurrency security company Harpie, indicating that more than 280 Android applications are using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to steal wallet recovery phrases from images on users' devices. This activity aims to steal users' cryptocurrency assets. Harpie recommends that users take several security measures to protect their devices and accounts, including avoiding the installation of applications outside the Google Play Store, ignoring suspicious private messages or links, running regular Google Play Protect scans, and most importantly, avoiding storing wallet recovery phrase backups on their devices. To ensure personal data and property safety, users should be vigilant and guard against such malicious software.
