Base Chain Sets Records: Volume and Active Addresses Rise, Fees Significantly Increase

Cointelegraph reports that according to The Block data, the number of transactions and active addresses on the Base chain have set all-time highs. On July 15th, the Base chain recorded 3.28 million transactions. By the end of the week ending on July 19th, this figure had risen to 3.52 million, with an average daily increase of about 1.8% over the week. As the number of transactions surged, the number of active addresses also reached a new record high. The number of active addresses increased from 567,000 on July 15th to nearly 650,000 by July 19th (Friday), with an average daily increase of about 3.5% during the same period. At the same time, there was a significant spike in fees on the Base chain, with the total fees collected on July 20th reaching the highest single-day total in over a month, at $177,000. In terms of total locked value (TVL) on the chain, Base still lags behind Arbitrum. At the time of writing, Base's TVL is $1.77 billion, while Arbitrum's TVL is $3.25 billion.
