The attackers successfully gained access to the hot wallet and transferred large amounts of assets across multiple blockchains including Ethereum, Polygon, and Optimism. According to statistics, the hackers made off with approximately $17 million worth of cryptocurrency. The attackers primarily operated by converting assets into ETH.
