According to Golden Finance’s report, Kristin Smith, the CEO of the lobbying organization for the cryptocurrency industry, the Blockchain Association, recently stated that the fiscal year 2024 for the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) ends on September 30th. Smith predicts that during the remaining months, the SEC will conduct more enforcement actions related to cryptocurrency trading. This may include penalties for non-compliant trading platforms or individuals, as well as further regulatory measures for the market. In a previous case, eToro agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle with the SEC and announced a suspension of most of its cryptocurrency trading activities, indicating the SEC's continuous strengthening of regulation over the crypto market. As the fiscal year approaches its end, market participants expect to see more regulatory dynamics and enforcement actions.
