Publication Time:2024-09-14 02:46:08
Recently, through a request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), it was revealed that since 2022, US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Gary Gensler has received multiple death threat emails and voice messages. These threatening messages include violent language, such as statements about shooting and 'chopping him up' in an extreme manner, as well as a threatening email with the subject 'Die' sent from Australia. Notably, some of the threat information may come from government employees. Although these threats are not directly related to Gensler's regulatory policies on digital assets, his regulatory actions have long been criticized and ridiculed within the crypto community, sparking public dissatisfaction. At the 2024 Bitcoin Conference, former President Donald Trump promised to immediately fire Gensler if elected, a statement that received strong support from the audience on site. Gensler's term will last until 2026, but election results could affect the stability of his position.
