SBF, Founder of FTX, Appeals Fraud Convictions Questioning Judge's Impartiality
Publication Time:2024-09-14 04:01:08
Noteworthy individual in the crypto sector and founder of the FTX platform, SBF has officially appealed against his conviction for fraud charges, requesting a re-examination of the case. SBF asserts that the judge overseeing his case exhibited unjust prejudice, influencing the fairness of the judgment. Last November, a jury in the New York area judged SBF guilty of seven counts of fraud and conspiracy, related to the collapse of the FTX platform in November 2022. In March, Judge Kaplan, responsible for this case, sentenced SBF to 25 years in prison, with SBF currently serving six months. In an appeal submitted to the court on this Friday, SBF's legal team elaborated on their doubts about the judge's unfair actions during the trial, including making negative comments about SBF and diminishing his testimony in front of the jury.
